ABOUT
Every year, we host a live music showcase on the evening of our conference, from 7.30pm - late across an array of Cathedral Quarter venues. In previous years, we have welcomed 30-50 in one night, featuring artists who represent a range of genres, performing in a ‘music-trail’ style. Attendees can walk between venues, no tickets needed, and hear from our incredible homegrown talent.
The audience for our evening showcase is made up of local music fans, creative professionals and leading music industry experts who represent every sector of the music industry. This includes music journalists, artist managers, booking agents, label representatives, publishers, composers and music supervisors (and many more) who have travelled from around the world to gauge Belfast’s music industry.
As a result, over the past 8 years, our showcases has enabled artists to gain endorsement from - and land deals with - music managers, labels, publishing companies, sync reps, PR agents and more.

The lineup for our music showcase is curated by entirely by hosts who are representatives of Music and Creative companies from around the NI, mainland UK and ROI. This means the artists who perform are chosen by esteemed industry experts hosts who have a deep understanding of not only of the music industry but of local emerging and established talent. The showcase is not curated by the Output Belfast event team. In their day-to-day work the hosts help to grow and support music talent throughout Ireland. We believe this approach allows the wider music community to be reflected in the evening showcase lineup and helps give opportunities to artists from across all areas of the North and South of Ireland.
Every showcase stage is hosted by two companies who both select 2 artists to perform on their stage, meaning each stage has a lineup of 4 artists. In previous years hosts have included: The Thin Air, Nialler9, Chordblossom, Sentric Music, PRS, IMRO, Oh Yeah Music Centre, Faction, New Champion Management, BBC, Girls Rock School NI, Third Bar, Evolving Music, Music Cork, AVA Festival, Help Musicians, Outside In, Quiet Arch, Start Together Studios, Cool FM and many more.
Showcase hosts for 2024 have not yet been confirmed.

In 2020 we added the Output Belfast Emerging Music stage to our showcase. This stage is dedicated to showcasing brand new, emerging NI artists with the aim of providing opportunities to new local talent in music.
